Lied in bed, tossing and turning... as usual mind alert and would wander around. This time my mind wandered to the folder marked as bittersweet memories! Just thought back bout this conversation I had with my ex back in NZ.
Me: I wanna eat lobster
Him: Ok lets go kaikoura
Me: Yess... when?
Him: Now!! pack up
Me: Haha serious?
Him: Yeah
Me: Eyess big bigggg... u're really serious?
Him: Yessss :)
Me: whooppeee...
Wow that was like the first spontaneous trip ever! I always just say things like i wan eat this i wan do this but normally its really just no action talk only and I don't expect anyone to be a genie and say ur wish is my command!!! And poof... u're actually in the car on ur way to kaikoura to have lobster for dinner!!! Oh ya lobsters are called crayfish in nz.. its a diff kinda lobster from the ones we normally see here in msia... and the reason we went kaikoura coz that's what they're famous for... kaikoura is a maori word and it literally means eat crayfish!!! Just to justify why we had to travel so far just to have lobster/crayfish >.<
Kaikoura is about 2.5 hrs drive from Christchurch.. it was a saturday so we went over the weekend. The outcome of the trip...

Not only that, the next morning we thought since we are there might as well check out what activities to do.. so we checked out the brochures, they have whale watching, dolphin watching, kayaking... just to name a few. Anyway we decided on quad biking! It was well worth the money and really fun. We drove through dunno how many acres of farm... got up close with sheeps and cows...there was one part where a young cow actually ran and raced with us... got to look at sea lions... zoomed through streams...absolute fun fun fun!

Following from this trip, we did many more spontaneous trips like this one. Normally with me just blurting out random things that's on my mind like... i wanna go camping.. i need a break! And than without missing a beat he will reply ok lets go now to here and there... no need to plan anything just go! wow I missed that.
But tis kinda spontaneous trips.. I know its harder to do that here in malaysia unless maybe u're filthy rich... Going for a trip here requires planning! Lots of it.. u gotta do online research.. where to stay.. how much wud it cost.. check out ratings and reviews and blogs...where to eat... which restaurant not to go so that you don't get conned!! and than go on google maps... and than research on the activities... otherwise u will end up going somewhere... probably get lost like 5 freaking hrs and end up not doing anything!
All because.. there are no proper signboards... business owners here cud just open up a rumah papan and still be given the license to call it a 5 star HOTEL!! there are no tourist information booth.. no brochures.. most of the restaurants u go to does not have the price listed so they can just cut ur throat with ridiculous prices just because you are not local! And most of the attractions are pretty pathetic... equipments are not well maintened, and hardly you will get anything value for money.
Tourism New Zealand... u rock! Tourism Malaysia... u totally suck!
